Our Mission
We intend to raise awareness and provide funds in order to provide Body Armor for the brave Canine Police Officers who risk their lives daily to Protect and Serve our communities in Arizona.
We want to raise awareness of the facts regarding what these heroic K9s do each and every day, and how we can provide funds to purchase the Body Protection for them along with booties, and special foods for their diets.
Our communities need to step up to provide for the special needs of these animals.

Founder
Carol Ann Smith knew at an early age that she wanted to “help people”. That’s what she did for many years as a Wife, Mother, Nurse, and then Nurse Practitioner. After she retired from her Nurse Practitioner career, she felt the need to pursue her other passion of caring for animals, in particular dogs. That’s when she started Shields 4 Paws, an organization designed to raise funds to promote awareness and Body Armor in order to protect these heroic dogs.
She developed a non profit GoFundMe account to benefit ALECA, Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association, She derives no remuneration for her efforts.
All monies go directly to ALECA!
