Our Mission
We intend to raise awareness and provide funds in order to provide Body Armor for thebrave Canine Police Officers who risk their lives daily to Protect and Serve ourcommunities in Arizona. We want to raise awareness of the facts regarding what theseheroic K9s do each and every day, and how we can provide funds to purchase the BodyProtection for them along with booties, and special foods for their diets. Ourcommunities need to step up to provide for the special needs of these animals.
About Founder Carol Ann Smith, NP
Carol Ann Smith knew at an early age that she wanted to “help people”. That’s what shedid for many years as a Wife, Mother, Nurse, and then Nurse Practitioner. After sheretired from her Nurse Practitioner career, she felt the need to pursue her other passionof caring for animals, in particular dogs. That’s when she started Shields 4 Paws, anorganization designed to raise funds to promote awareness and Body Armor in order toprotect these heroic dogs. She developed a non profit GoFundMe account to benefit ALECA, Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association, She derives no remuneration forher efforts. All monies go directly to ALECA!
